We work with seasonal, locally grown flowers, exploring color, texture, and garden-inspired design. Everyone leaves with their own arrangement and skills to use again. Available for birthdays, showers, team gatherings, and other celebrations in New Jersey, New York City, the lower Hudson Valley, and Hampton Roads, Virginia. No experience necessary.

What's Included in Your Private Workshop

Each flower workshop includes all materials, hands-on instruction from an experienced floral designer, and a beautiful seasonal arrangement for each guest to take home. Workshops last approximately one hour, and I handle all setup and cleanup so you can focus on enjoying your celebration.

As a preferred vendor at Norfolk Botanical Garden and founder of Black Flower Farmers, I bring expertise in sustainable, seasonal floristry to every workshop. I've taught floral design classes for Tidewater Community College, Elizabeth River Project, and private clients throughout Hampton Roads. Each arrangement features locally-grown blooms when available, and I teach garden-style design techniques that anyone can learn.

  • How long does a flower arranging workshop last? Workshops typically last one hour to ninety minutes of hands-on instruction, plus I arrive early for setup and stay after for cleanup.

  • How many people can attend a private workshop? Group size depends on the location and workshop format. Let me know how many people you’re expecting so we can plan the space, materials, and instruction.

  • Do you provide all the flowers and materials? Yes! All flowers, containers, tools, and materials are included. Guests just need to show up ready to create.

  • What types of flowers will we use? I work with seasonal, locally-grown blooms whenever possible. Each workshop features fresh, beautiful flowers appropriate for the season and occasion.

  • Can you accommodate special requests or themes? I'm happy to work with your vision for colors, themes, or flower preferences. However, the seasonal nature of my work with locally-grown blooms means some flexibility is needed. I'll do my best to incorporate your requests while ensuring the freshest, most beautiful flowers available at the time of your workshop.

  • Do you offer workshops for kids? Yes! I've taught workshops for groups as young as 10 and can adapt the instruction and flower choices to be age-appropriate.

  • How far in advance should I book? I recommend booking 3-4 weeks in advance, especially for popular weekend dates. However, I can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests depending on availability.

  • What if someone in our group has allergies? Please let me know about any allergies when booking, and I'll select flowers accordingly.

  • Can we bring food and drinks to the studio workshop? We can discuss refreshments when planning your workshop. Arrangements depend on the venue and should allow enough table space for everyone to work comfortably.
